Maintenance Technician

Gaffney Housing Authority is hiring a Maintenance Technician.

Classification: Maintenance Technician
Supervisor: Director of Maintenance
Status - Non-Exempt

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate with property management to ensure efficient and effective completion of maintenance tasks.  Knowledge of common methods, practices, and materials used in maintenance and repair work of buildings and building facilities; various tools used in building maintenance and repair. This position performs routine building maintenance for Housing Authority of the City of Gaffney properties.  

All activities must support Gaffney Housing Authority mission, strategic goals, and objectives.

Minimum Education and/or Experience

1. Requires a high school or GED equivalent.
2. Two (2) years of experience in labor work.
3. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and construction; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. 
4. HVAC Repair Certification or able to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.
